Exhibition topics

The permanent exhibition of the Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism covers approximately 1,000 m2 on three and a half floors. 33 topic stations examine the history of National Socialism in Munich in depth.

The exhibition tour is subdivided into four main sections. It starts with the end of World War I and the outbreak of the November Revolution in 1918. The first section is devoted to the emergence and rise of the  NSDAP. This is followed by a presentation on the functioning of the Nazi state and living conditions during the regime. The next section describes the effects of World War II. The situation in Munich and in the war zones are referred to here. Finally the documentation takes us beyond the collapse of the regime in 1945 and examines the effects and consequences of National Socialism to the present day.
